A high-quality, intensely nourishing balm that has been specially developed to soothe and care for the sensitive, dry and itchy skin of horses. The rich formula supports the natural skin barrier, helps to hydrate the skin and provides long-lasting comfort against irritation from insects, environmental factors or sensitive skin.

The balm combines Ichthyol® Pale (shale extract) with a carefully selected mix of avocado oil, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil and olive extract. These nourishing ingredients help to intensively care for the skin, support natural recovery and reduce a tight or dry feeling.

Tea tree oil and rosemary extract support the natural purity of the skin and help to keep it in optimal condition. Thanks to their caring properties, they contribute to a fresh, healthy skin environment.

The addition of glycerin provides long-lasting hydration and helps retain moisture in the skin, while vitamin E protects the skin against oxidative stress as a powerful antioxidant and supports the natural skin barrier.

The gentle, non-greasy balm absorbs easily, leaves a protective layer, and is suitable for daily use on sensitive skin areas.

Ichthyol® (Ichthammol – shale extract)

Ichthammol®, the ammonium salt of dark sulfonated shale oil, has been successfully used for over 100 years as a naturally derived active ingredient in the treatment of skin conditions. 

The Ichthyol® materials are derived from natural oil shale. They are unique, complex mixtures of natural origin and have a characteristic "tar-like" smell. The light Ichthyol® is amber-coloured.

General use

  • In case of severe irritations or damaged skin due to frequent scratching from itching 1-2 times a day

    Apply a generous layer 2 to 4 times a day on clean, dry skin. Repeat the application until the skin is fully calmed and natural recovery is visible. If necessary, the balm can remain as a protective layer on the skin.

  • For an irritated or sensitive skin prone to itching 3-4 times a week

    Apply a thin layer depending on sensitivity to the sensitive areas of the skin, such as the nose, lips, eyelids, or other exposed areas. Regular use helps to soften, hydrate, and support the natural skin barrier.

  • Preventive – protection of sensitive quickly irritated skin Apply as deemed necessary

    Apply a thin layer to sensitive or lightly pigmented skin before exposure to sun, wind, cold, or other weather influences. Repeat application as necessary throughout the day, especially during prolonged exposure to sunlight or after intense sweating or washing.
